The New Warrior Training Adventure is a process of initiation and self-examination that is crucial to the development of a healthy and mature male self. It is the "hero's journey" of classical literature and myth - the process of moving away from the comforting embrace of the mother's feminine energy and safely into the masculine kingdom. The Gabriel Event The shadow of Overlook Mountain in Woodstock N.Y. was the site of some very powerful magic this past weekend. The Fun(d)raiser for Robert Gabriel's family was MAGIC! on every level. The Woodstock community was shoulder to shoulder with men from across the northeast showing their love and support for a man who has given so much to his own family, his patients, and his community. There was singing, dancing, chanting, hugging, car washing, food, auctions, and a lot of healing and love, along with raising over $45,000 for this family in need.
Gabriel is a member of Team Granite of the Plasma Men's Division, which hosted the extremely well produced event. Many men from Plasma, individual Teams from the NYC area, MDI members from the New York Region, and men who had been part of Rock Hard when Gabriel was Tribe Leader and DC were in attendance with their families. A group of men from the Northern New Jersey Tribe of the New York Region of MDI came with families and friends to the Woodstock Rescue Center to wash cars raising almost $900. I am very proud of the unwashed right front door on my car that identifies me as a contributor to that cause!! The Atlantic Region of MDI held yard sales as far away as Boston, and the Christian Men's Division of New Jersey weighed in powerfully with raffle ticket sales.
It should be very clear to everyone who was there or who hears about it, that people can and will pull the wagon when needed. They will pull it, push it, and take it apart and carry it if the call is given. I learned that this generosity is available to all of us, every day, and not just in times of crisis, if we nurture our relationships by reaching out, listening, and being compassionate. That's part of the lesson from my friends Clint, Ghandi, and Curley. Thank you all for playing along. You were all present. Thank you Robert for being the MoFo when we needed you. Your presence is still needed.

Reach Out Manager for the New York Region

NORTHEAST CALL TO ACTION April 29th in Woodstock, NY - Team Granite of the Plasma Men's Division is spearheading a Fun(d)raiser to benefit Robert Gabriel (SMW 9/95) and his family. Gabriel has been fighting throat cancer for the last few years, and needs financial support to help him find a cure, and to care for his three young children. As a chiropractor and DC, he has given a lot to the community, and now needs us. The event will include some of Woodstock's best musicians, great food, and an auction. A nationwide network of poker tournaments has also been organized. The New York and Atlantic Regions of MDI are working closely with Plasma on this event. The Healthy Spirit Men´s Conference in West Palm Beach Florida was an addictions therapy conference that was wonderfully organized by Hanley Center's Alan Lyme with the focus on treatment of men and men's issues. What was unusual about this conference was the focus on men's issues and the presence of MKP at the event.
Jim Mitchell and Les Sinclair presented sessions on the need for initiating men and the use of the four archetypes. They also explained what MKP is and the New Warrior Training Adventure. Jim gave an amazing closing Key Note address. Steven Judith manned the MKP exhibition table, introducing our work to countless therapists who were interested in referring their clients and to men who have interest in attending a training.
I learned how to present our work to the world and to the men I invite. Thanks to the 25+ Warriors who traveled from all over the US to attend and represent MKP so well.

A HEALTHY SPIRIT Healing the body and minds of men April 22-25, 2007 at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida join Andrew Weil, MD, Robert Bly, Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson, John Lee, M.A, and Christopher Kennedy Lawford at A Healthy Spirit,, Healing the body and minds of men conference.
This national conference will cover a wide range of topics that are essential to the well-being of men, featuring coverage of physical health issues, emotional growth, relationships, spirituality, addiction, anger management, depression, and fathers and sons.

A message about the Circles of Men Event from the Reach Out Team So it was written and so it was done! On April 4th, we had 145 men from MDI, East Bay Nation of Men, South Bay Nation of Men, WETSU, DOJO, New Warriors, The Tribe, Unaligned, and a number of guests. Many communities committed to very similar purposes, each with its unique personality from Clint's focus on enrollment to Gandhi’s sacred tone, with Curly's raucous, cross-talking banter in between.

The CPR and vision held throughout, with on-the-fly-adjustments appropriately made as men will do. We did what we set out to do in the time allowed by the parks dept. From what was said by everyone talked to, and from the energetic atmosphere that was palpable, men were glad they were there and wished more men in their lives could be there also. The men acknowledged their Legacy, calling out the names of men who have come and gone. Their names were shouted out.

Why should I care if the other circles succeed or fail?

So the men I’ve lost have a home to go to.
In case I need them myself someday.
So they will be there for my son/father/brother.
I might get a new teammate from them someday
They have ideas and “technology” I can learn from.
In case my neighbor needs them someday.
Because I embrace all men.
To support their purpose.
To build a better world.

In The mood at the final circle around the fire was: Let's do more of this.

There will be the beginnings of relationships among divergent circles that will allow us to start producing greater results for the men, their families, communities, and Humanity. The stage is set, now there is work to do for the Reachout Team and the leaders to put the words and feelings into action.

Circles of Men Event On April 4th, 2007 a gathering of Men's communities will join together to celebrate the power of a large circle of men.
Join Men from the South Bay and the East Bay Nation of Men, MDI, DOJO Oakland, W.E.T.S.U., and other Tribes of Northern California. at Roberts Park, Oakland California, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM.
The Purpose of this Event is to meet as Men's Communities that are tied together; living parallel purposes through ceremony, physical fun, and the power of a larger circle of men. Barriers fall, and the men see the common thread that binds us together.
So that the beginning of relationships among the divergent circles are embraced, and with that, we start producing greater results for the men, their families, communities, and Humanity.
